A Fresh Chop At Hiro Miyoshi

Hiro Miyosh Hair Review.jpg

A slick salon in Mayfair, just a few minutes walk from Green Park tube, Hiro Miyoshi is the latest hair destination to enter our little book of impressive haunts for a quick transformation…

After researching the man behind the business, Hiro Miyoshi’s eponymous salon is everything we hoped for. Gorgeous décor, years of experience under his belt and drawing on Japanese heritage as a source of inspiration, it’s a place to relax and leave the experts to tame unruly locks, whilst you sit back with a coffee and a glossy.

Arriving for a cut, we met with Angela, our stylist for the session. Post-consultation, which mainly consisted of getting rid of some seriously over-processed ends and adding volume with clever layers, the hair wash was a treat in itself. Using a special Japanese treatment called YUKO, replacing conditioner, it adds proteins to very dry and damaged hair. It's spritzed on and completely transforms your hair. The benefits are extra shine, less frizz and a polished finish, lasting up to two weeks. Sounds good? Well, we’re very happy to announce that the effects last well over the expected time.

Angela tells us that her clients fall in love with YUKO, as you always get instant results. Next comes one of the best head massages in town. Firstly, a hot towel is placed around your neck, which is divine when the weather is so chilly. The massage is not rushed and helps to relieve tension in the scalp. Just try not to fall asleep.

Angela explains that chopping off length helps with fine hair, lacking volume. She gives it a super-blunt cut with layers. But those layers can't be too short as this can actually make the hair look thinner. No, thank you.

There's all of the luxury touches at Hiro Miyoshi – great service and a warm welcome. No clinical or unfriendly vibe to be found here. We loved Angela's straight forward approach. Rather than pondering over the decision, we said we wanted shorter, she gave us that, but with the best approach and shaping to suit a fine hair type. Fuss-free and easy.

After a blowout and soft waves, created with a large curling wand, Angela sprayed the brilliant Oribe Dry Finishing Spray, specially formulated to thicken up the final look. Genius product.
