From skincare and fragrance to delicious gelato, new season accessories and hair makeovers, here are some of our highlights during our day trip…
FRESH | 17 Monmouth Street
Popping into Fresh is the ultimate sensorial experience. As you inhale the glorious scents, apply the glorious creams and snack on a rose-infused marshmallows, this is a small but perfectly formed destination to discover new beauty treats that you’re pretty much guaranteed to become obsessed with.
Marie, the lovely store manager, offers a huge amount of expertise when trying to break down which products will benefit your complexion most, and brilliantly explains the skin-loving benefits behind each natural ingredient. We tried the delightful ‘lip ritual’ which works to lift dead cells using the gorgeous Sugar Lip Polish, containing good enough to eat brown sugar crystals, shea butter and jojoba oil. Next, a Sugar Lip Serum is applied to pump up those moisture levels, followed by a Tinted Lip Treatment with SPF15. We opted for an uplifting Coral shade. Since our trip to Fresh, we’ve been using the Rose Face Mask and Honey Mask to really reawaken and boost brightness. Get ready to fall head over heels for this store.
VICO | 1 Cambridge Circus
If you’ve got a thing for authentic Italian food (who hasn’t?) VICO create the most amazing, fresh selections of pizza, seafood, pasta and of course, the epic gelato they’re famous for. For a lunch fit for a king, we chose the ‘Cruda’ pizza with crisp rocket, buffalo mozzarella, prosciutto and tomatoes, alongside Monkfish with courgette salad, topped off with a divine elderflower and Prosecco cocktail. Swoon. As if that wasn’t enough, on high recommendation from the waiter, we also tried the ‘Lasagnancino’ sphere of fried lasagne, which sounds a little strange, but oh-my, it was a round ball of yummy goodness.
You simply cannot depart without sampling the gelato, so we went for two generous scoops. Don’t miss the ‘Mint Straccia’ and ‘Salted Burnt Caramel’ for a sweet treat.
MILLER HARRIS | 14 Monmouth Street
Back to lovely Monmouth Street, which looks super-cute on a sunny day, complete with red, white and blue bunting, we entered Miller Harris to discover luxury fragrance at its very best. Sipping an iced tea, we completed a questionnaire called ‘fragrance wardrobing’ which aims to analyse your favourite aromas via your personality, loves and lifestyle. Are you a beach person? Where did you grow up? Which fragrance do you wear for the working week? All of these questions help to create your perfect scent choices to match your mood.
The results proved the newest addition to the Miller Harris family, Vetiver Insolent, to be our fragrance of choice, which is a wonderful mix of spicy notes and a total must for summer evenings.
BAILEY NELSON | 69 Neal Street
We’d heard great things about the Bailey Nelson experience and the rumours of the most stylish specs in town for a reasonable price tag are definitely true. The formula is simple. There are no hidden add-ons and everything is £98. So if you’re after super-chic glasses with anti-scratch, anti-glare and anti-reflective coating, you’ll get it all for the same price, and this applies to their amazing range of sunglasses, too. After trying on way too many pairs, because there are so many cool options, we chose the statement ‘Mim’ sunnies in pink pop.
The décor inside the shop is reason enough to visit alone, with amazing hanging chairs and greenery that is all very Pinterest. Expect big things from this Australian-born company and be sure to put them high on your list for a shiny pair of glasses you’ll be proud to show off.
KARINE JACKSON | 24 Litchfield Street
Our final stop, a trim and heavenly blow dry at the sublime salon, Karine Jackson. In the expert hands of Ian Florey, we went from flat and lacking movement, to hello Alexa Chung-inspired choppy bob. This cut is the dream for those with fine hair but lots of it, as it creates much-needed volume that’s ultimately a lot more flattering to the face. Ian completed the look with relaxed, beachy waves using a wand, and even gave us a live tutorial on how to get the tousled look at home. He is the training specialist after all, and made the whole process seem much less daunting. In a nutshell, we cannot wait to return for another chop with Ian.
Each destination at Seven Dials was inspiring and there are so many more places to visit. So, if you’re stuck for fun things to do this weekend, plan a whirlwind trip to each little street and enjoy this lifestyle hot spot for yourself. You won’t regret it.

Last week, we spent a day exploring Seven Dials and fell in love with its relaxed atmosphere in the spring sunshine and huge selection of boutiques, cocktail spots and vibrant restaurants. Nestled amongst Covent Garden and Soho, it’s the perfect mix of the big name brands we all adore and cool independents. Plus, if you find the hustle and bustle of the Covent Garden Piazza a little too much, then this will be a welcome hideaway to stroll around in peace and indulge in a well-deserved treat, or two.
