If you’re on the lookout for a yummy Easter treat to celebrate the long weekend in style, then we have a gorgeous and totally unique twist on the traditional afternoon tea to tell you about, at a super-chic boutique hotel…
La Suite West, located close to London’s Hyde Park, is transforming whatever may spring to mind when you hear the word ‘vegan’ with this indulgent dining experience. From the contemporary, monochrome styling of the RAW Restaurant by interior designer Anouska Hempel, to the beautiful presentation (there isn’t a floral tea set in sight, FYI), La Suite West have created a fresh and modern take on the pastime we all love.
You certainly don’t need to be vegan to enjoy this fine selection, and if you love to sample interesting treats to wake up your taste buds, then this is a great alternative. So, what’s on the menu? For starters, you’ll receive a glass on non-alcoholic fizz. Now, before you fall off your chair, we actually loved this and found the blends particularly refreshing between plate arrivals.
For the finger sandwiches, a mix of avocado chilli mousse, roast tomato with sunflower seed pesto, lemon and thyme tahini, Portobello mushroom pate with cashew nut butter and scrambled tofu are the fillings. Next, and our absolute favourite, the divine homemade scones, complete with fresh strawberries and whipped coconut cream, were a real winner.
By now, we’re feeling ready to pop, but there’s more to come with pretty bite size raw deserts and cakes, which are equally tasty and perfect to pop onto your Instagram feed. Post-feast, you can happily relax in the peaceful dining area with Italian coffee or a pot of loose hibiscus, mint or green tea to bring you around from your food coma. Not being vegan ourselves, we thoroughly enjoyed a new spin on the quintessential afternoon tea. Plus, it’s in a great spot to visit Notting Hill afterwards.
